Résumé

From a study of nematodes collected from various anuran hosts in Poland and comparison of literature data it is concluded that Neyraplectana schneideri (Travassos, 1931) and Neoraillietnema praeputiale (Skrjabin, 1916) sensu Semenow, 1929 are identical, the former name being used in the West and the second in Eastern Europe for the same nematode. The name N. praeputiale was given to two separate species: to an African nematode redescribed by Le Van Hoa (1962) as Aplectana praeputiale (Skrjabin, 1916) and to a common European parasite of frogs and toads corresponding to Neyraplectana schneideri. The history of these species and their validity are discussed. The name N. schneideri is regarded as valid for European nematodes; descriptions and drawings are given and some distinguishing features of the females are discussed. Aplectana vercameni Le Van Hoa, 1962 and Neoraillietnema ranae Wang, 1980 are transferred to Neyraplectana. The genus Neoraillietnema is retained for the original species N. praeputiale (Skrjabin, 1916), and its diagnosis is emended on the basis of the redescription by Le Van Hoa (1962). ac]19840112
